The problem is that if the .config directory belongs to root, then the user pi may not have permission to create and remove files and directories in .config. All Linux and UNIX would have the same problem, it isn't a problem with Raspberry Pi OS. This is security on Linux. The problem sometimes is that people new to Linux use the sudo when it isn't required, which can end up creating files belonging to root when they shouldn't.Okay thank you, I ran the command and things started to work normally again! It seems the raspberry pi os lite image has some kind of issue where the .config dir is owned by root by default..
